Before forming the Procussions in 1997, he had been a rhyme-battling MC, a graffiti artist, a DJ, and a voracious beat-maker since high school. He initially put his productions aside because he favored Procussions member Stro the 89th Key's beats over his own. In 2002, the trio decided to leave their hometown of Colorado Springs, CO, a barren city as far as hip-hop goes, for Los Angeles to get their foot into the record industry door, releasing their first album, As Iron Sharpens Iron, on Basementalism the following year.
